End (Free verse) by Dovina Surprised at my own ease
and manufactured careless tone of voice,
Surprised at my own lack of surprise
at his announcement of departure.
Our strained, but salvageable love,
he determined ended,
And instead of screaming or crying,
I simply thought,
âend.â
