The Plague of Being (Free verse) by D. $ Fontera
An opiate of the sinking soul. Draughty blackness through a circular door. This demonstrates the mind of ignorance and of shifting dread. An event not to be missed. Mannerisms as protocol are as avoided as the breaking tide which will drown sin and honor alike.

Up the ladder: Wrong
Down the ladder: Caveat

It seems hand in hand we fall through our hopes and fears. This gave me shivers

Congratulations! You are the one billionth person to use the phrase "hopes and fears" in an absurdly wishy-washy sentence. You deserve boiling.
