The Glow of the Sun (Free verse) by QuirkyWonder
The glow of the sun Burns my skin As I lay on the beach Take in the feel of the sand And breathe in the smell of the ocean I hear the waves crashing Children laughing and playing And for a moment I want to be young again With no responsibilities And a creative imagination The innocence & ability to be so naive Now, The glow of the sun Smiles on my skin As I lay on the beach Take in the joy of life And breathe in all the memories I share.

Up the ladder: To a bum,
Down the ladder: I don't rhyme enough, eh?

Is this a rewrite? It is evocative (because I can never spell reminiscent without a spell checker) of a poem I thought I remember seeing posted here before this. However, I enjoyed this one more than the last. It has an "uplift" at the end.

I have no idea...not a rewrite that I am aware of. I wrote this poem about a year ago, and this is the first time posting it anywhere on the internet.

Ah, to be young again, or old again, still lying on the beach. Not bad.
