May I? (Free verse) by cedand1
May I transcend my identity? May I step over the line? Allow me to explore the nether regions The places unacquainted, the people unfamiliar A living virgin to the rough and tumble world There are some things I’d rather not admit Take back that hour of desolation Follow through where there was hesitation Dreams unanswered, interwoven destinies and shared paths Nightmares of actuality and harrowing despair Just a little more time here and there What happens when I break the rules? Misguided intentions and unintentional missteps The nuance of a bond bursting at the seams Hiding, away from the view of ordinary routine A pathway, narrow yet capable of channeling Into the yonder, the unknown, an open invitation

Down the ladder: Eye's Upon Tomorrow's Night

I suppose if I did not relate to this in my own experience I would pass it off as another ramble by another crazy poet. But since I do, it's enlightening.

Enlightening indeed, however vague. *8*
