Ulterior Not Alterior (Free verse) by MacFrantic
(Inspired by an argument with my father that I'm sure many have had before me) Sharpness spans several degrees Everything from Dull to Acute But one universal truth remains That without wit we are nothing And nothing can be worse Than damaged goods In time we learn to avoid people Who are Bigger Stronger Smarter Without any hesitation we know Their weaknesses But fail to capitalize Anyway you put it Everyone has numerous Character flaws However I am certain Beyond a shadow of a doubt That I am right And you are nuts So please stop arguing Because alterior is not a word

Up the ladder: The choices we make
Down the ladder: All About Me

Not bad but you should avoid cliches such as "beyond a shadow of a doubt" and "damaged goods" and "universal truths." Oh, also "any way you put it." Be original as much as possible.

I'm glad you didn't miss the fact that I use cliches purposefully. But it would be nice if you realized that arguements often dissolve into analogies and familiar "-isms", or cliches. Aversion of these was not my aim.
