Journey of a broken heart (Free verse) by donmiguel1960
A broken heart travels alone Surrounded by its very soul All in the vessel of its spirit Sailing in the darkness of the sea No stars to plot a course by Where has the dawn vanished to? Thick gloom wrapping all Covering the darkness of the night Will the sun have the resolve? Can its fire force back the shadows? Winds from the heart churn the sea Drawing the waves ever higher The vessel is pitched to and fro Structures pressed beyond all strength The soul lifts its voice for help Spirit and soul fearing for life Troubled by the heart Agitating the ocean deep Intertwined with forces afar Traversing the clapping waives Distance has no measure Jeopardy ever increases Days have no time Moments last evermore Waives immerse the vessel The Heart, endangering spirit and soul Begging for a remedy Knowing only one way out As Jonah was lost in the sea The heart must be let go Begging to be released Saving the very soul Preserving even the spirit Deaden even the heart Yielding life to both spirit and soul Jonah tossed from the ship A sacrifice saving the vessel Gaining the lives of the sailors Save my spirit and soul Sending overboard my heart To the depths of the cold icy sea

Up the ladder: The Star Of The Bum

A lot of prose here, but not a lot of meaning. Could use a lot of shortening.
