Absurd (Free verse) by cedand1
Did you dream the absurd while you were asleep?
Were you fully awake and simply failed to weep?
Sometimes at your responsibility and duty
Other times at the natural and utter beauty
Of all that the world has to offer someone who dares
Or the nausea that strikes the moment you seem to care
About the wrongdoings and injustices and total unfairness
That serves to disrupt and corrupt your naïve awareness
Of this place that envelopes and takes hold
Shakes you and grates you as realities unfold
Sending you rushing for a perch up high
Just to get away, perhaps just to defy
The inevitable fate that awaits us all
The paradoxical conflict thatâs sure to gall
Dying to understand something beyond reach
Wishing there was an agreement to breach
So you wouldnât have to deal with that word
Universal and unrelenting, âtis the absurd
