Untitled 48 (Free verse) by TLRufener
I walk but I do not move I breathe but my heart does not beat I cry but I make no sound I am alone but I am surrounded by company Voices echo through the darkness Silent calls straight to my soul A black heart presses me forward Searching for my rightfull home Aimlessly floating throught the world Never asking for the way Lost in light and dark confusion Forever speaking with nothing to say Always alone but never lonely Not of the living but not of the dead Constantly listening but there is nothing to hear Forever writing but nothing is read

Up the ladder: An Arrow and a Knife
Down the ladder: here now today

Ahah! I know what it is! it is a "riddle". Or it could also be a pen.

Btw - I bet you could do this with less than half the words. I don't mean this as a dig in anyway, but after reading all of your poems (here, and there) I really think it would make them stronger.

(please, don't throw that shoe)
