Untitled 26 (Free verse) by TLRufener
I uncovered the truth About all you lies; Could you see the sorrow When you looked into my eyes? I am crying tears And suffering great pain, It seems as if the skies of forever Will always be filled with rain. I do not want to believe What I know is true, Because in the end I will always love you. Your interests lie elsewhere That I cannot touch, And I do not understand Why I still love you so much. My head cannot forgive you For breaking my heart, But my soul cannot survive us Being so far apart. I deny my own truth And everything I see, Because deep in my heart I know you still love me. Somewhere inside you In the darkest corner of you soul, You know that I am the one You want forever to hold. How you can deny What is in front of your eyes, Will remain hidden away Until you dispose of your disguise. Why you can let go Of all the love you still see, Will forever be unknown To the heart that belongs to me. Many years from now When you forget this day, My thoughts will still dwell On all you did not say. When that day comes You will finally realize, That the one who love the most Was right in front of your eyes. Upon that day Your hear will know, That no matter what happens You cannot let me go. When you beg the stars And ask for the truth, You will then discover That my heart will always belong to you.
