you (Free verse) by killingjuliet
you do not sparkle like the rest you wear no cloak of ivory upon your chest i rake the garden of dandelion and weed and there i found your seed you are what i need. you do not strive to embrace or enjoy you do not seek attention of others employ you do not bring me to my knees you do not lie or moan or grieve and i think you are just what i need... you are simple enough to rest while i struggle and digress your eyes are bright as midday sun your skin is plain, your song unsung you are only common at best but that's enough to pass my test - a feat of iron will and jest i rake the garden of dandelion and weed and there i found your seed among the honey and the bees twisted in the lilac and the trees - and you are what i need.

Up the ladder: In My Words
Down the ladder: That man looks so familiar
