merry-go-round (Free verse) by thing1

late one Saturday afternoon, my sister Genelle, my mother, and I sit in the family room watching Sesame Street. when SLAP I let Genelle have it, right across the face. tears begin to fall from my sister's eyes. looking at the twisted countenance of my mother, who has just witnessed a devilish deed, I take off running in circles; from family room to foyer from foyer to living room from living room to kitchen and back again. my mother follows me, round and round until she gets tired. I notice her fatigue, and stop, gloating, that I have won. in the blink of an eye, a hand comes down. GOTCHA! my mother walks away, smiling, with bad old me in tow.
