Enslaved (Free verse) by Twisted Wizard

Once I asked, why am I here? Just a pawn in this never ending game. Like a slave, a puppet I am, Being controlled by this evil being. Every day is always the same, I am subjected to excruciating pain. This darkness has infested my brain, Am I going insane? This disease which eats me away, Bit by bit, piece by piece I slowly fade. Slipping in and out of time, my strings disappear, Am I free? My freedom goes as far as an arm's length, For after being drained, I have no strength. Even though my strings are gone, I am still enslaved by this darkness. Maybe one day I may see the light, Or fall to the wickedness. Beaten and bruised, I fall victim, To the wasted life within. Waiting to die, I have served my purpose, To create another generation, who will be used to finish my unfinished work.

Having one verse that rhymes and the rest in freeverse is extraordinary. And your non-meandering exploration of free-will vs. destiny has never been done before. Keep up the good work!
