Coloring Loss (Free verse) by molly

When the sun is in my eyes When I taste my hair in my mouth, When my tears blur the landscape When I wear raindrops as others wear jewels I start to think of you, and a million other memories arise resurrected from their graves to haunt me. Like ashes in a fireplace an unexpected wind carried you off, I can still see you flying spiraling through the soot of the chimney-- the blackest color: black as oblivion black as naught black as love's suicide-- into the cold, pulsating night air. You leave me standing at the edge of the world, holding nothing but black in my hands.

Beautiful. I love the last 2 lines.
