Helium (Free verse) by peaceseeker

went dutch on a small bill, first date gave the doggie bag to a beggar boy navigated the way home with negotiations uphill through our peninsula city destination became pumpkin beer, in season the best rap music sampling in the bar smiles from the lone Black man, open mike night in a room of drunks avoiding their lives all zen for the best rap disk jockey around for miles this was the ultimate happening place smokey until January 1st, a true holiday it was a culmination of things, really that turned me off to you, in love with lust impulsively you played with your silverware others made me invisible to you every time smoking non-filters while under the weather beer after beer in front of your blank stare expecting me to go home with you for bong hits still you called me at the twelveth hour kindly, I stroked your male ego with lies while you indulged yourself in bong hits again, the imbecile suggestion that I join you the perpetual student, obnoxious in your reality in your beer drinking haze, night after night in carbonated brewer's yeast alcohol water again shameless bong bubbles over the line you towed insisting you were listening to me unaware how hearing impaired you truly were and my judgement, a little ascew handing over reasurrance to you while gripping my power in both hands releasing your memory like a helium balloon
