What R U? (Free verse) by kawakurdi

When I don't come, you look for me When I do come, you flee. Then, tell me Are you fire or radiance? Are you flower or fragrance? Are you a being or a mere shadow? I want to feel you As a flame raging in my soul Filling every space of my existence. I want you to bury the last tremor Of every part of your body In my arms. Then tell me Are you fire or radiance? Are you flower or fragrance? Are you a being or a mere shadow? Are you a beginning or an end? Are you a concrete word or a nebulous voice? A violent torrent of rain Or the cold breath of the steam? Then tell me: What are you? When you come, your palanquin is the world When you go the world is a lonely mountain Overflowing wild cataracts of alienation Engraving my address on the rocks of Loss. A stranger am I! My companion is the sound of the caravan Of the nomadic tribes. My consolation is the wave of warm tears. My shelter is in the country of the wind. My homeland is a name, and even not a name. My people........? The stream of questions stretches to the skies Still no trace of replies. Then tell me Are you fire or radiance? Are you flower or fragrance? Are you being or mere shadow? Are you the answer or the beginning of a hundred more questions? Tell me What are you?
