Nyctophobia (Free verse) by crims0ngh0st

I am afraid of the dark. I am scared by the night. It welcomes me, It consumes me. The darkness counsels me' The darkness knows me. The peaceful silence, The boundless eternity, I fear the comfort that overwhelms me. In the dark the power of the world lays at my feet. The thoughtless currents erase my sorrow. Happiness floods over me and leaves me fulfilled. I am afraid of the compassion of the night. The gothic darkness that fits me. The fundamental feeling of belonging in the dark. I fear I have found my home.

"Happiness floods over me" doesn't seem to quite say what I think you're wanting to say. Maybe "dark happiness", just to pound it in more, or... Not sure. I'd like to see more of why you fear the dark as opposed to that you are; what is wrong with having the power of the world, thoughtless currents, ...?
