For Mukhtaran Bibi in Pakistan (Free verse) by pkdrunner

This is no ordinary rape The tent is full of hating witnesses In number, their presence makes it right The higher caste delivers a lesson As though lessons past we had forgot I know what pain and humiliation will come No power of good will intervene There, my father, mocked and held in evil grip Will not see my eyes plead for rescue I must spare us both that searing memory

powerfully emotional, but it needs work, a bit disjointed in both stanzas. to the other poster: she was a woman who was gang raped to punish her family because her brother was seen walking with a girl from another caste. yes its recent.
