Ballet (Free verse) by famenglory

The curtain rises A pink dancer is born into the soft light The audience watches her spin and twirl (She is their preforming monkey) Everyone is most attentive in the first five minutes But then starts to sleep. Only those truly in love with her Watch the missteps but still applaud She soon slows to give room For her dancing partner The audience comes back to life To watch this romantic story The girl is seduced and her dance partner Does not leave the stage. It becomes boring again. Snores are heard from the older patrons. They go as unnoticed as the grandmother We buried last month. The dancing pair start to slow And the audience knows its ending So they get ready to applaud At the death of the stage ligts
