The Ode that never was (Villanelle) by Shardik

"Why are these street signs in Morse code?" (I was on my way to pay the tax man when) I made a right turn, down the wrong road. Like my state of mind needs this added load? "Excuse me Maam, may I ask you a question?" "Why are these street signs in Morse code?" The woman seemed distant, in a strange mode. Mumbling something about letting them syphon. I made a right turn, down the wrong road. I tried to remember if I had licked a toad? When up rolled a mad four wheeled orphan. "Why are these street signs in Morse code?" All he said was, "Screw pirgayte LeChoadke!" Then he went into a pub dubbed the "Lions Den" I made a right turn, but down the wrong road. If I was a poet I would've made this an ode. (But 'twould be ignored, and not get a ten) "Why are these street signs in Morse code?" I made a right turn, down the wrong road.
