Comfort Food (Free verse) by jessicazee

A being can crawl into a kreplach Or expand within a stuffed shell Fists clenched, rageless. Blintz bliss in a girdle of papery crepe - A snug lumpia in hand Softens a beast in the body. A vessel, full filled, becomes Pillows for smallest children, Vital hugs, dumplings. A breast, a pierogi Embraced by slender Rinds of vellum and pulp. To be or to ravioli, The pot stickers Have answers, have nature.

an interesting poem, the mixture of the two sets of
imagery is repellant, brings to mind eating disorders, perhaps that was the intention of the poet, no matter a poem takes on a life of its own once it is born. Smooth blending of imagery, I don't know what to make of the, hmm, old world nature of the foods mentioned...
