Friend (Free verse) by MysticalRaven88

Somtimes at night,I lay awake and wonder. About your smile, about your warmth, About your caring thoughts. About the wisdom you've given me, About the colors you've shown me. Midnight blue, its the color that reminds me of you. The darkness of you is not frighting but soothing. The gloomieness of you is not sad,but cheering. You bring hope to my life, and show me there are obsticals, but they can be over come. Life was just one big mystery till you came along, and lightend the path from night to day with your smiles, and caring words. Once was a wall, now is rumble at my feet, broken down by love and warmth witch i'd never known befor. Friendship was new to me, it was a frighting thing. But you took me by the hand, and led me within. Lighting ever darkend spot, filling it with light. Reminding me you were there, forever filled with joy. Midnight blue,is the color that reminds me of you, for it is the time between, Day and night and all the frights and wonders of the world. And the most precious thing that can be seen, is the friendship that burns within, all you have to do is look a little deeper, and the color inside of you..will always shine threw. ~Melinda

This poem must be fucking brilliant if it can instigate such emotions in people. It definately doesn't deserve to be taken off.

If I may be so bold as to put forward my humble opinion, I don't disagree with Christianity. I'm not religious, because I'm not sure what to believe in.
However, I don't agree that America is a force of peace across the world-in fact, America and the West contributes hugely to the world's problems. For example, how about Iraq? Sure Saddam is insane and dangerous, but America is so determined to invade for their own purposes that they are willing to endanger the world.
And who is currently oppressing other Middle-Eastern nations so the only way they can respond is through terrorism?

It seems obvious to me that the large percentage of America doesn't give a fuck about the outside world because they're happy to keep their cheap oil and not have to waste time saving the rainforest-and therefore the world.

That's my rant over, sorry it took so long, but it's an issue I take very seriously, and would like to hear the American view on this. If I'm drastically wrong on this, then please let me know, but I don't think I am.
