Belongings (Free verse) by Christof

And how, whenever she took your hand She held it tight enough to pinch She kept it in her pocket like a coin She stroked the knuckles until they purred She owned it And how, whenever she spoke your name She pursed it in her mouth like schnapps She crooked it in her throat like cream She wrung the vowels until they rained She drank it Is what you'll remember When you ring up her Mum And ask What the fuck has she done with my clothes?

This popped up on random, I 'd forgotten it. I forget things. If you tell me a joke, in 3 months time you can tell it to me again. I love how you manage to conceal the punch til the last moment.
