A poets call to arms (Free verse) by INTRANSIT

Poets! Arise! Take up sword and shield and address those closest you. Go into the dead! Shake them awake and make them ask "why". Stab at their funny bone! Humor them and tickle their feet and tongue. Knock them asunder! Kick their shins and heads and roll them in verbage. Cut them in half! Grab their hearts in one hand, stomachs in t'other and show them themselves. Once you have done this, tend to them and nurture them and create an army.....

God's wife, This wasn't meant to be a goof poem as Mr P&K said. In fact this is one of my personal favorites. This poem is a metaphor for finding people who have little or no spark in their lives. We poets have a way of reaching people with a few words and I think our talents have gobs-o-merit in the real world.
This is supportive of our craft, sword and shield=pen and pad.
We can make people feel pain, pleasure, lonely , happy and we can celebrate things as simple as coffee. Don't worry about being funny, ask P&K and Dark Angel, they'll tell you I'm not ready for playful jousting yet. Thanks, If I can improve on this piece, let me know.
