We visited the gay men on the veranda (Free verse) by Frass

We visited the gay men on the veranda my wife and I traded nervous laughter and looks. So strange to me calling each other 'girl!' suddenly, whirling and crooning to an old Supremes hit another has a fit over some prankish indiscretion between his boyfriend and another blush-cheeked, man-child, loverly she-creatures I love them but, brotherly.

Thanks, all. The scene was 6 heteros and two dozen gay guys in a too small apartment party for Gay Pride weekend festivities in Wash., DC. Definitely could be better expressed so that reader doesn't get bogged down with 'is the author gay?', 'is he trying too much to deny that he is?' type stuff. But, when was the last time you read a hetero male poet/author write of gay men..."I love them"?
