And She Came Back (Free verse) by Enkidu

My Love went out And she didn't came back I got lost for awhile Then I woke up to sunshine In the woods of my home Chained to a tree Two days I waited And the trunk did tremble Up from the roots I rose For miles I left behind Pieces of me for her to find But she never came back I was at the shore in winter The lake was frozen then And I shed my clothes I walked through autumn And summer and spring With your memory leading my way But turned back the way I came When I saw her walking Smiling and laughing And I could not bear to call Or bear to hamper her stride Because she was happy I strode back through the seasons And stumbled upon a grave And into it I fell and slept But when I awoke I was dying So I pushed the earth from me And I shattered my wooden bed An anger found me then And I drew the gravedigger's wrath When I spoke against his task So he quickly blinded me His shovel twisted my knee And I was a poor sight He left me to the mountain And I was mute from hunger And I was deaf from pain I climbed weary and broken But I found myself home From touch and fragrance alone As I waited then to die I felt fingers graze by cheek And lips caress my lips Then I opened my eyes And my mouth and my head Because I knew it all along

Hmmm.. I think this could be shortened to contain less detail and more impact.
