Explorations Underground (Free verse) by ecargo

How you look to me: Saluki lean, scrawled sapphire, a warrior in woad crawling ahead through this caustic barrow. Lichen tawny, the light seems strained, spreading oddly from the ovate wellhead beneath the deadfall, a hole through the ancient moraine, where this hollow hour holds the liquid, thumping backbeat of some river’s end.
