Going Away to Fight a War (Lyric) by wilco

Remember that June day? The summer solstice on it’s way to remind us of the time we sat and watched the film. It wasn’t very good, but still it keeps playing in my mind. I hope you understand the reasons I can’t explain again for why I have to leave. And if the engine turns there’ll be no more fuel to burn by the time I make it home. I hope you recognize my eyes in airwaves coming through the tides and when you see me waving to you on the evening news. All along the street retired kite strings fill the trees that we planted long ago in the hopes that they’d grow tall and create a sturdy wall behind which we’d grow old. If you grow tired of waiting as that summer sun is setting take the first flight back home. And don’t forget to pack a coat. It gets cold on the East coast as the leaves are turning brown. I hope you recognize my eyes in airwaves coming through the tides and when you see me waving to you on the evening news.

You're correct on the solstice thing...as for the vote average, if you've been here any length of time, you know that vote averages mean little on this site when gauging talent. Thanks, though ;). Yeah, I like the retired kite strings bit...my favorite line here along with the second half of the first stanze...I totally ripped the tune off from Death Cab for Cutie though..I gotta work on that...
