They Knew Me From Adam (Free verse) by D. $ Fontera

I tried to forget my tumbling universe shifting things; that which is uncontrollable. But, of course, it is harder than you can imagine. One day familiar to today, but somehow closer to yesterday, i will be sitting; staring at the future. Now, the future and I will argue. We will bicker over trite things: philosophy the economy, the way that girl's hair moves and ultimately I will be right, by every definition of the word. May the past come knocking; should it suggest a wiser resolution, i will offer but a nod and relive the mistake over, yet again. For it is no mystery to these past selves that I am quick to act. And while from swiftness comes regret, i am not one to waste much time consoling myself.

When you use a twist on a cliche in your title, I expect to find some allusion to the cliche in the poem. I like the third verse.
