Just for Show (Suicide revised) (Free verse) by sliver

Smothered in standard white sheets, Silenced by the voices Of people he wanted to meet. Shutting out the noises On a quiet country lane, Far away from everything So no one heard the bang. No, it wasn't his greatest feat, But when it came to making recompense, He found ways to go too far. If you really want to know, It required absolute silence. A jar of pickles. And an absurd amount of whiskey. P.S. The pickles were just for show.

Proof that you don't have to use 50-syllable words to write a good poem. Reminds me of an old George Jones song... Yabbadabba Doo! The King is gone and so are you..." -10-
