The Legend of the Crow (Free verse) by TLRufener

The clouds roll in, The sky darkens. Lightning strikes and the rain begins to fall. Through the booming thunder, A window smashes. Screams can be head throughout the city, Among the sirens in the streets below. Two lovers have fallen, Together they go on. A bridge stands before them, They walk together to the other side. Halfway the bridge falls, Shed crossed and he falls to the river below. He awakens in a cemetery, Before him he sees the horror of truth. Two stones, Marked with the names of separated lovers. Now he must do all he can, To make amends. He must rejoin, With his separated love. Alone he wonders, Why did he return without his love? If they both perished, How and why could that have happened? She come to him sometimes, Through the window where he fell. She explains, He must set things right about their deaths. If he does, He’ll be able to cross the bridge. If he does not, They will remain apart forever. The crow brought him back, It is the only link to his lost love.

I never look at the votes or comments, but I would be suprised if anyone thought this mustered anything higher than my generous 3...sorry...it sucks in general, and really is lame, to be specific.
