Popular Lovers (Lyric) by wilco

We've got a mill on the outskirts of town where rumors are made and circulate like hundred dollar bills among all our friends and popular lovers that made their escape from the carnival of bars and mistakes. A run down apartment on the East side of campus where we made love and talked about music and that stain on the carpet you said looked like Jesus or John Lennon was nothing but wine properly aged. Please, don't ask me to stay because you know I will We'll keep on growing older as we tread the open waters of another heart that's drowning peacefully. You said it's the best of the worst we could do even if we are hopeless but at least I'm romantic

Of course I did (and still do on occasion, but I don't think that Bon Jovi could rock his way out of a paper bag these days.
