Where I'm From (Free verse) by lil_evil_boi

I often ask where I’m from? Where am I really from? Am I from the fresh morning breeze of October, as the blank blue sky turn into haze. Am I from the busy streets of skyscrapers, wishing their shadows would conceal me from the ponderous blaze. Am I from “Go do you homework!” and “Get off the computer Am I from the tears of my relatives, as the distance between us become farther. Am I from Canadian immigrants, from 2000 and Taipei, Taiwan Am I from Japan, America, and China, as I travel to countries one after one. Am I from Snoopy the hamster, whose death still touches my heart. Am I from the Simpsons, listening to the evil cackles of Bart. Am I from believing Jesus, the triumph of doxologies, and the people saying “Amen”. Am I from watching starvation, as the African refugees torture by famine. But one thing I am definitely sure. I am from my hard work, from the present as I continue on my life journey.
