Antique (Free verse) by Billy Fights

I guess every tear Is worth a wasted breath Maybe that's why I'm such a windbag I've been your hero Victorious in every battle For a kingdom in your name Like your morningstar A weapon of war no longer needed You have cast me aside, for unarmed combat I bare before you my blood Noble but tarnished, drink if you will I can offer no more than every drop

Yes. "A weapon of war no longer needed" coupled with the title. Why a morningstar you might ask? Because it is an extention of reach, and force. Why wouldn't a sword be just as effective? Swords are cliche, and/or he didn't view himself as a piercing weapon. A morningstar is consider a blunt weapon. Hard hitting and only deadly in the right hands.
