The Messenger (The Unreplaceable And Greatly Missed Mr. Mercury) (Free verse) by anagram

You were there when youthfully My judgement was wrong To cool my hot water With the sound of your song And when adolescent heartbreak Had left me to weep You were there with your melody To soothe me to sleep You were there to inspire me When left with no hope To uplift my soul And to help me to cope And when highlights and sunny days Came to an end You were there as a soulmate A star and a friend You were there when the parties Had faded to dull To rock them and roll them Back from their lull And when later we'd perform Poor party skits You were there while we Shamelessly murdered your hits You were there when Africa Needed a lift And the whole world could see That you had a gift And when they criticized Each turn was assessed You were there when they Acknowledged you as the best You were there and you held me In the palm of your hand Among eighty thousand At your command And when we called For more and yet more You were there to deliver Majestic encores I was alone when they rang To say you had died With a lump in my throat And tears in my eyes And when I looked through The posters, clippings and scraps You were here, but you weren't Maybe, perhaps I'm alone when I listen In serious thought To your life and your work And the joy that you brought And when I'm down And trouble is near I listen and know You'll always be here. R.I.P. Great Man Thank you for doing what you did and letting me share. CSN 12/01.

I know someone who hates F. Mercury with a passion. Perhaps I should give you his email address and you can have a huge argument?
