Schisms (Free verse) by Dovina

CREATIONISM: In pews we listen For all the truth we need While the forest tells another tale Unthinkable, unseen Creation plays to an empty house Colorful, beautiful Appreciated, not inspected Speaking truths to infidels We pray for open eyes Clouded dim by sin Trust and obey We’ll show you the way EVOLUTIONISM: In classrooms we listen For all the truth we need While the record tells another tale Unthinkable, unseen History plays to an empty house Colorful, beautiful Appreciated, not inspected Speaking truths to fanatics We argue for open eyes Clouded dim by faith Trust and obey We’ll show you the way

You are too kind. I shall try as best my humble efforts can to incorporate your suggestion.

BROGUEISM:
In London pubs we listen
For brogue truth we need
While the pavement tells another tale
Unthinkable, unseen

Practicality plays to an empty house.
Sneakered feet of distance walkers,
Appreciated, not inspected

Speaking truths to peasants
To look with fashion eyes
Clouded dim by lack of blisters

Trust and obey
We’ll show you the way
