No it does not help to say that at all. There are a handful of very simple rules which dictate how you use the apostrophe. It's not difficult to find out what they are. You can look them up in countless books on puncutation or grammar. Googling "apostrophe" produces 279,000 results.

The first rule of apostrophes, in descending order of not making yourself look like a total dunce, is not to use them when constructing plurals. When you add "s" to make one Jew into several Jews, you do not use an apostrophe. Even "homo", with its final terrifying "o" making you embrown your jodhpurs in fear of having to pluralise it, does not need an apostrophe. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. You obviously want to "learn the craft of writing" or some claptrap like that, so for the love of Christ, please spend the next five minutes reading about how to use apostrophes. You will be tested shortly.
