Writing a poem and enforcing feelings unto others are two separate entities: you can read a poem, but not be forced to empathize. i know i am generalizing when i write these comments, but i am targeting a specific group. I appologize to those offended. Art is perfection; it can be relative to the artist, the viewer, the criticizer: art will never die, i assure you. However, society's perception of art will diminish if we hold grudges against those we view as less talented than us. When people recieve comments like "you're an idiot", (i realize there are a limited percentage of people who say this) it turns people off to art. That's where the conservatives(agian, generalizing) get their fuel; that is where we're killing art. I do however, completely concur that hippos are blameless animals due to their interminable ignorance.
