There exist all sorts of photo sites (both artistic and non-artistic), so there's not much to compete with there. drawings are a possibility, but... do you think that many people draw and would want their drawings ranked? [willing to believe there are, but hadn't considered]. There are sites like that minus the ranking -- elfwood, for instance (my "page" there: http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/zone/f/i/fire/fire.html), though they're only scifi or fantasy...) So I could try for a more generic site than that.
recipes sounds promising. I use recipesource.com, but they could really do to filter the wheat from the chaff.
Thanks for the thoughts. :) Of course, it would be nice to "fix" all the remaining issues with poemranker before moving on, but... (but I think I use that line of reasoning too often to simply do no more). reciperanker has a nice ring to it, though it looks really odd written down. :)
