Voices (Other) by abcmonkey78
The near beginning of my fascination for poetry: I’ve started to begin a fall, My insane soul, it cries a call, The voice I find is drawing near, The intense sound that hurts to hear, A piercing scream with such a length, I hold it back with all my strength, For now the shriek begins to cease, I beg that it will soon release, The voices cry a ghastly scream, They’ve meddled with my mind and dream, Controlled my will, my thought, my soul, They throw me in an endless hole, They took me from among the sane, But will not take me there again, I’m fighting through this misery, At times I’m full of agony So great I feel I cannot win, The way I am I’ve never been, But I fight on, and will not fail To tear apart this darkened veil That holds me from a life I need, I have the might, I will succeed. The voices cry a ghastly scream, They’ve meddled with my mind and dream, Controlled my will, my thought, my soul, They throw me in an endless hole, They took me from among the sane, But will not take me there again, The voices I had in my head, That troubled me ‘till I felt dead, Are falling to a peaceful hum, And hopefully will never come, They’d take me from among the sane, I’ll never let them find my brain, And now I have a chance to see, How it is like among the free, The voices cry a ghastly scream, They’ve meddled with my mind and dream, Controlled my will, my thought, my soul, They throw me in an endless hole, But I have felt the scorching burn, I’ve conquered them, they won’t return.
