Good Riddance (Free verse) by dragonfly
It was kind of disconcerting the news I received this morning. You had been found safe but a little shaken. I was more than happy you were gone. I'd been trying to get rid of you for so long and then came news you'd been taken. Maybe I was too eager in my rejoice that some guy threw you into the back of his truck. Every day I still heard your voice, but I tried convincing myself that I didn't give a fuck. I wondered how much longer I could go each time I saw your black and white photo taped on a pole with a reward set embarassingly low. And now the police are on their way. You'll be home again before night. And while they're out searching for the culprit, I'll be conspiring with a friend to get the job done right.
