Fathers (Other) by amielou82
Fathers think they must be many things Strong, fearless, successful and smart. But what really matters to a sweet little child, Is getting the kindness and love that's from their father’s heart. Fathers are just like angels but without the heavenly wings As they look deep into your eyes and whisper goodnight They are working hard to keep you meek and mild And blessing you with a safe and completely healthy life Fathers are always there when you do something bad While he explains why he must punish you Deep inside he’s hurting with every single touch But as a father he must teach you what the right thing is to do. Realise that anyone can one day become a dad But also see that within it there’s way more As a fathers work towards their child means so very much Than just a child life to love and protect, cherish and adore Fathers fear the moment when their child must grow When the time approaches for that important date And as tears fill his eyes as you walk down the aisle You look towards the man who raised you and made your world so great But there’s something that every father should know As it’s the one thing that their child would much rather It’s more powerful and precious than just a happy smile It’s the love that's shared only between a sweet child a their loving wonderful father.
