The World Is No Longer Silent (Free verse) by newdawnfades
The world is no longer silent, I no longer think of her. I could not find the words so I cried in silence. How I have tried and failed a million times, falling like a million raindrops on the concrete sidewalk in my mind. The world is no longer silent, it rages on the shore, in everything you meant, in open hearts that tore. Tearing this path of silence anew, if the words you spoke were true, In a day or in an hour, tasting milk on lips so sour. The last question I asked, how did it die so fast? You could only shut your eyes, falling tears that my soul denies. The world is silent now, with your picture book in hand, and you ask me how it slipped through our fingers like sand.
