Fate (Free verse) by leviathan
I'm watching it all fall apart watching the sun leave for better skies The world seems colder than it was before cold like a victim's heart ten seconds before it dies Victims are all that are left here Nearly lifeless bodies littering the streets quivering like suffering mudpuddles beneath the lampposts We did the best that we could The same thought to cross every mind as it quietly dies For the gift of life we gave you our unrelenting faith For every breath we take we give thanks everytime we pray Everything we have done has been what you commanded And yet you see fit to torture and destroy us anyway A world of beauty is a gift certainly worth giving But not so you can torment it out of rampant envy of anything living You gave us the facade of free will and a false sense of supremecy You said do as thou will for I have made kings of thee The truth is in the end we became the very definition of irony we have evolved into something that Heaven did not intend to make And now we must be obliterated else become proof of divinity's only mistake.
