Dreamer (Free verse) by oldschool
I now close my eyes just to dream some more.
To dream of things that will not ever be.
I allow no one through my bedroom door
To see things only Dreamers ever see!
The cloud of white like children walking near
Comes forth to my mind like winner of race,
In this world there is nothing I now fear
For we are equal- now all have a place!
I see a thousand trees lined holding strong
Just like the snow in Arctic rain storms i knew.
Where race does not equate to "right" or "wrong"
And angels dance in misty morning dew
Like butterflies. One thousand butterflies
Jumping to the beat of four violins
Like children do. Where innocence espies
To be divine and cast off fear from sin.
I see expansive rivers, little streams
And people bathing in lands of honey.
Where there is just enough, so to meet your means
And people laugh for no reason "jus funny"
Then I wake up up to a thousand sinners
And me a sinner. Taking with my hand(s).
People want to win and be the "winners"
And facist life and chaos rules the land.
I could go back to sleeping, and just sleep.
But i'll always wake, I know what I've seen.
I'll make a choice and break this phlegm ragged heap.
A dreamer fails... if all he does is dream!!!
