Portsmouth belle 2 (Free verse) by Garrett S Sexton
O tattooed Nell, she was me girl,
many a night in the alley.
A penny and some rum, we'd have some fun
and fun we'd have aplenty.
O tattooed Nell, her tobacco smell,
her wooden smile would carry.
I'd have married that girl, O tattooed Nell,
with the anchor on her belly.
But the bells would toll as the sea would call
and she'd many a boat to meet.
So I bid farewell to old tattooed Nell
as she hobbled up the street
O tattooed Nell, she was me girl
and in those eyes she'd always be.
