Oblivion (Other) by DevilTmptrss
A drunk oblivion wrapped so tight;
a warm soft blanket in the night.
Got the spins an hour ago,
now I'm nearly face-down in the snow.
Addictive genes coiled in my cells.
Bottles chime sweet like church bells.
Music's blasting, turned up past seven,
continue like this and I'll never get to heaven.
The clear night sky so vast and dark.
Light a cigarette with a mechanical spark.
First long drag so sweet and thick.
Warm hand in my pocket curled round my Bic.
Close my eyes as I exhale,
start thinking about a friend in jail.
Open my eyes and see a wishing star,
wonder if it's past last-call down at the bar.
