The Kiss (Other) by anastomosis
We thought (and this was most sublime) Our words should last and outlast time, Yet wished for more reward than this. Then true time came, not fancy stuff We dreamed when young and had enough, But sweet and common like a kiss, A stranger’s kiss, that came and went, And left us wondering what it meant, How what seemed right was set amiss.
