The Difference (Free verse) by thepinkbunnyofdoom
My friend you have asked me How I can bleed more from a lesser cut While the blade that stabbed you was longer The point of my betrayal was driven deeper Close as the knife was to your heart Her dagger dove into mine with no fault My friend your demise was carefully constructed Then excuted without flaw, cold and grim Efficent and final, with details and explanations You watched her become the monster she's always been Yet loved her anyway Where as my burial wasn't nearly as well designed One day, a piano falls and levels me flat She whom I knew was dying and is now dead All that remains is a hollow husk responding to her name Yet I still miss her anyway So I guess my friend, the question is this Would you rather have been slowly poisoned Or shot while your back was turned Thats why I still hurt, and my insides burn And know this cursed sting If your still lost and confused My first love hurt me once Her replacement, many Your first love hurt you often Before the battle ended you had your scars Until that day, I didn't have any That Is The Difference
