Mother Defined (Free verse) by loneshadow29
A mother can be said To be the giver of life To bring into the world A child, to raise to adulthood But to this child she has raised My mother is so much more In those many moments in life When I had lost my way When doubt had overwhelmed Consuming every thought She is there, like a guardian angel To pluck the doubt from my mind And guide me back to the true path In those dark times of sorrow When others turn their backs Leaving me broken and alone She has always been there To comfort me, to help heal my wounds She has provided so much more Than the spark of life within She is honest and trustworthy, gentle and kind, supportive and loving Truly a friend for all times I know I have gone astray a time or two Stubborn when you tried to help But no matter how angry I became You loved me unconditionally For all that you have done for me I can only say thank you For I was and will always be truly blessed To have a mother as wonderful as you
