Drug for the Modern Man (Free verse) by Blindproject217
Just a reflection of what I consume?
My addiction manifests here in my room.
How can I state that Ive not changed.
When clearly this vice has brought me to shame.
If people knew, what would they say.
Spit in disgust, that they may.
Would be just punishment for my darkest sins.
I say âHere it endsâ but then it begins.
Having withstood, my guard is dropped.
The doors fly open, my mind with lust is sopped.
Demons, screeching, enticing to gaze.
If only the sun could rise, and so end this phase.
From dusk till morn, a new side is born.
A side I love to hate.
A side that makes me irrate.
Restless, debase, sites my mind cant erase.
Screaming till my pitiful throat bleeds.
âDamnation upon thy headâ, so it reads.
I search counsel, something to feel alive.
But wisdom locked up, with a sign that reads 9-5
Now Iâm left here, slowly fading away.
So much pain, pent up emotion, nothing left to say.
Desperate virgin
Gazing into blue screen rays
Another waste of time
